The Trouble With Never: (Southern Romance) ~ by Isabella Harper. This is such a treat for me, as I love Southern Romance stories and whilst I felt a bit frustrated at the end -Is that it! I'm so happy that there will be more Summer and Caleb to come soon. The author manages to capture the intensity of feelings between the protagonists as they face up to their mutual attraction. The air crackles between them as they deal with the past that has kept them apart for ten years and the resulting emotional baggage. 4 stars

Roses are Wrong, Violets Taboo ~ by Kris Calvert. On the Eve of Valentine's day, Alex Tabeau is alone in a bar after burying his beloved grandfather. The man that had brought him up had once told him “you'll know her when you see her.” So when Rose Westwood walks into the Voodoo Bar, he knows that she is the one. Will just one night together be the beginning of their future? 4 stars

Love's Not Viral ~ by Nessie Strange. A fun story with a serious undertone - Astley becomes an overnight media social media sensation when drop-dead gorgeous Hollywood actor Bradley Stone announces to his twelve million followers that he's going to marry her! After Bradley turns up on her doorstep with a media entourage looking on, it is his older brother that Astley turns to for help. Surprisingly this “old man” has more in common with her, which is a good thing right? 5 Stars

Take The Plunge ~ by Kishan Paul. RN Eve Cambridge has changed a lot since High School. For a start, she's ten dress sizes slimmer. When she accidentally sprays pepper into the face of the guy she spent High school drooling, the mistake turns into a date. However, a chance meeting before the date highlights issues that Eve would rather forget. 4 Stars

Keep Calm and Eat Chocolate ~ Michaela Miles. What happens when two people meet up in an institution, both knowing that themselves are sane and not ill, recognising this fact in each other too? An intriguing short story on how two people help each other work towards being released from their forced detention and seek justice for those that wronged them. 5 Stars

Valerie Twombly - Valerie's love of vampires came from watching Dark Shadows as a little girl. Her active imagination, love of paranormal romance and a supportive husband drove her to try writing her own novel.

Katie Stephens - Born and brought up in the Surrey Hills near Guildford, Katie now lives in Camberley and is married to Will. They have two young daughters, Abigail and Georgia.

Katie's love of creative writing started at school and as well as writing short stories she found great enjoyment in writing poetry. While primarily writing for friends and family, she has had two poems published in anthologies plus a number of others in event programmes and in-house publications.

In 2008 Katie decided it was time to take her writing up a level and started on a Creative Writing course. During the course she found not only the inspiration but also the confidence to take her writing seriously. Her first completed book was born from a piece of homework on her course. She spends any spare time she can find sat at her computer and writing and sees this as her escape time.

For the past 18 years Katie has worked in PR, firstly in agency then in-house. While in agency she dealt with consumer PR and Sports Sponsorship, working on music retail, homebuilders, mobile telephony and fashion as well as the England Cricket Teams. Nessie Strange - Nessie is a Massachusetts native and mother of two who has dabbled in everything from abstract painting to freelance sports reporting. She also loves a good story, whether it's reading or writing one. Active membership in a writer's critique group has helped erase the memory of two horribly written practice novels.

Kishan Paul - From daring escapes by tough women to chivalrous men swooping in to save the day, the creativity switch to Kishan Paul’s brain is always in the ‘on’ position. If daydreaming stories were a college course, Kish would graduate with honors.

Isabella Harper - Isabella Harper has been putting her imagination to good use since she was a child. Throughout school, she would get caught reading or creating a story of her own instead of doing whatever it was that she was supposed to.

For now, she is fulfilling her life with her husband and being a stay at home to her two young children, at home in Texas. When she’s not working on obtaining fitness certifications, writing a new contemporary Southern romance, or spending time with family, she’s probably enjoying a weekend in the countryside.

I sat down next to Katherine in a wooden folding chair. The distance was too great, so I adjusted my chair, becoming almost flush with hers. I draped my arm around her and rested it on the back of the chair. I stared out over the dance floor and could feel her eyes question my arm around her. She would just have to get used to it. I planned on touching a lot more than just her shoulder.

“So, what has you all mopey?” I asked as I continued to watch Jordan and Tom’s first dance.

“I’m not mopey,” she shot back, proving that she was in fact mopey.

“Says the girl who already downed a bottle of champagne before the first dance is over.” I glanced at her, and her eyes fell on me. In that moment, I knew why she was upset. I looked at Jordan and Tom dancing and then back at Katherine. I squeezed her into a half-ass hug and said, “Think of it this way, beautiful. You didn’t lose a friend. You gained me.”

She laughed while elbowing me in the stomach, and said, “I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.”

Katherine continued to laugh until she caught my eye. I leaned in close to her, slowly brushing my nose against her cheek until my lips reached her ear. The breath caught in her throat.

“I’ll prove to you how good it can be.”

TEASERS

This is the 3^rd book in the Love Bug series and my personal favourite. We follow Lance, Olde Town's biggest player cowboy and Katherine, Jordan's best friend from Charlotte. Can they find happiness together like their best friends?

Both protagonists know all about one another before they set eyes on each other, so Katherine is determined not to fall for this cowboy's known charm. However with a lop-sided grin and green eyes it is going to be difficult to resist such a gorgeous man. Lance has always had an eye for a pretty girl, and he's gotten to know most of them in his town since messing up his relationship with the only woman he's ever loved. Is he going to follow his friends and find the perfect woman for a happy ever after?

The pair finally meet in person under unforeseen circumstances, with Katherine trying to not fall for Lance's country boy charm. Besides, she's a city girl living and working in Charlotte! She has a sassy mouth and is an equal match to anything Lance says. He knows that they appear opposites, but so are his parents, so he feels confident that he can find happiness with this auburn haired accountant. Nothing is clear cut and lines of communication cease, lead to confusion. Luckily, stars begin to align when Lance begins an accounting job, unbeknown to him that it is the same company Katherine works for. Will Katherine resist Lance's cowboy charm once more?

In the previous books in the series, Lance is portrayed as a Jack-the-lad guy, but just below the surface we glimpse a man who has loved and lost before – he has a big heart and knows that his past behaviour and reputation could ruin his chances with Katherine. I love his determination in his attempt to win Katherine over, even when she delivers devastating information which rocks him to the core. Somehow, three words let him know what he missed and what he wants in the future. But underneath all the bravado is just a guy trying to protect, charm and win his girl's heart.

What I singularly love most about the three books in The Love Bug Series is how each time-line is close together, giving the readers the opportunity to see some scenes from more than one point of view. It adds greater depth and understanding to pivotal plot-lines which makes this a truly 5 star series.

Book #1 Watching Fireflies

A suspenseful, romantic story set in South Carolina.

Who would have thought that turning up at her new home a day earlier than planned would result in Jordan Hawthorne being the one who has a surprise? Suddenly her life turns on its head, forcing her to leave Charlotte NC, her ex-fiancé and her dream job. She finds herself in a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains, hoping that after hiding out here for a semester or two in her new job at the local community college, she can go back to Charlotte and re-build her life and career.

The weight of responsibility has been on Tom McCloud's shoulders for many years as he runs his late grandparents' farm. He doesn't have a lot of spare time but when he does, he like a whiskey and a woman and definitely not looking to settle down. Doing a maintenance job for his aunt results in him seeing a gorgeous,naked guest in the bathtub. Are his playboy ways about to end?

Tom has got to be THE most polite cowboy ever. His naivety when it comes to dating is so endearing. He's clueless but you can't ever doubt his enthusiasm to get to know this stunningly beautiful woman who is new in town. Jordan's reactions to Tom are likewise adorable as she keeps Tom on his toes, showing she doesn't take any cr*p. Mistakes and misunderstandings are a given, but neither loose focus on their growing love for one another.

The author has written a wonderful introduction to this colourful southern town. As well as our protagonists, we have a host of other characters that add further a dimension to the overall plot, increasing the overall appeal of the book. The sexual tension between Jordan and Tom is sizzlingly hot, leaving no doubt in our minds that these too are destined to be together... once a skeleton from the past is taken care of. There is romance, hot sex, humour, angst and heartbreak, combining to make this a fabulous début novel, leaving me thirsty for more.

Book #2 Dragonfly Awakening

This is the second book in The Love Bug series and in this book we follow Paul and Ellie story.

I'm was surprised by our protagonists back-story, because their “relationship” is so much more than we are previously lead to believe. This is a story of two people that have been in love with one another for ten years, but because Ellie dated Paul's best friend Lance in High School, being together is never going to happen because of the guy code bros before hoes!

After completing her internship Ellie decides to take matters into her own hands and buys a shop in Olde Town to set up her clothing/design company. The motivation for the move from Manhattan is to see Paul again and pick-up after a brief interlude some months earlier. Will the gamble pay off?

Unrequited love is the heartbreaking theme and at times I just wanted to knock both Paul and Ellies's head together ask why they are not together? The short answer to that is called Lance and it is amazing how one person can have such a hold on his best friend and ex-girlfriend for such a long time. It is very clear to everyone, including Lance that Paul and Ellie have had mutual feelings for each other, like forever. However, Lance still harbors strong feelings for Ellie too and would love an opportunity to mend their broken relationship.

With the time-line running concurrently with Watching Fireflies, we are treated to an alternative point of view during a couple of scenes which brought the book more alive for me. I love how the author has written all of the characters. The focal point might be Ellie and Paul, but we also catch-up with Tom and Jordan. Add to the mix a colouful array of supporting characters and you have a fun packed, sexy story.
