Dare To Touch Series

USA Today bestselling author Mira Lyn Kelly cranks up the heat for two lifelong friends whose most secret longings come true in every delectable way.

Vivacious and successful, Ava Meyers is living her dream life, except for one thing: Ever since childhood, she’s been in love with her best friend . . . and she’s never admitted it. Back then, Sam Farrow was a damaged young man with a tough past. Now he’s supremely confident, super-sexy, and totally untouchable—until the night when Sam pretends to be Ava’s boyfriend to save her from some unwanted attention. In a moment of weakness, Ava finds out that a long friendship is no match for blistering sexual chemistry.

After years of denying his own feelings, Sam finds that one amazing night with Ava isn’t enough to chase away all the pent-up fantasies. So he proposes they spend a few weeks driving each other wild, exhausting their every desire, and then return to their perfect platonic relationship like nothing ever happened. But Sam’s plan has one fatal flaw: the part where they give each other up. Because the more they let go of their inhibitions, the more they’re tempted to never go back.

I admit to having tears in my eyes whilst reading Touch & Go – not only from joy but out of sheer frustration too!

I wasn't expecting such an assault on my emotions when I began reading. It was exhausting at times because you will want to scream at your book/reading device at the characters' actions. I loved both of the protagonists, but seriously wanted to put them both in a bag and shake them violently ;-) Be prepared for love, unrequited love, lies, betrayal, despair and hope.

Sam and Ave have spent twenty years in a loving platonic relationship. As adults they live in the same building, they spend all their spare time together along with a close knit group of friends. They are best friends and share each others secrets, or do they?

Ave Meyers is trying to avoid Stalker Steve aka Steven Hapron's advances so needs a “fake” date to accompany her to a firm's mixer at a swanky hotel. After initially turning her down due to a prior engagement, Sam Farrow changes his plans to help out his best friend – their problems begin when they need to make their “relationship” authentic to convince Steve that Ave is not available.

And so begins a catalogue of events that will have you living all the emotions Sam and Ave go through – there are many. The author does a really thorough job of conveying the depth of feelings the protagonists are dealing with. The tension is palpable at all times during the various changes within Sam and Ave's shifting relationship. What starts out as fun, turns into something that is very believable if it wasn't for deep rooted doubts both of them have. First and foremost they are friends and that is something neither are willing to compromise. With best intentions, or foolishness, they test the boundaries of their twenty year friendship with devastating consequences. What started out as an innocent curiosity back-fires on them spectacularly resulting in them realising they can never go back to being the friends they have always been. Both have kept their change in relationship status to themselves, so are isolated from sharing their emotional burdens with their friends. Only a bold life-changing decision provides the catalyst to finally put Sam and Ave's relationship back on track.

This is the second book I have read by Mira Lyn Kelly and look forward to more in the future.

Book Spotlight: Outback in Stilettos by Ann B. Harrison

The most popular soap on television hangs in the balance because Delilah Connors has lost her mojo. Her agent decides she needs a break.
Delilah disagrees but when her agent says jump, she jumps! She heads for the outback on a bus tour from hell. The coach smells, her seating partner is an octopus and the road leads nowhere she wants to go. It’s all too much.
She grabs her bags and hits the track. The trouble is the track leads to two small children and a widowed farmer. The kids are cute but not cute enough to compensate for an archaic kitchen and the filthy flies. Just when she’s getting the hang of the outback, the flies and that sexy farmer she’s summoned back to the big smoke.
Blake makes a last ditch attempt to plead his case but amongst the glitter and glamour of the Sydney film elite, he is way out of his depth.

His gaze never leaving hers, Blake held his arms out by his side. She undid the button on his jeans. With a smile, Del slid the zip down, pushing his hands away as he tried to help her. She wanted to be the one to take them off, all of the way. Her hands trembling, she pulled his jeans down, exposing his body to her gaze. She cupped his butt cheeks, marvelling at the way his muscles twitched in the palm of her hands. When his pants dropped to the floor, he stepped out of them and kicked them away.
Her pulse unsteady, Delilah dropped her gaze down his chest to his stomach and her mouth went dry. With a mind of its own, her hand skimmed up and touched the soft skin on the head of his cock. It jerked under her touch and she smiled before wrapping her hand around the length of him and listened to him suck in a breath.
Blake thrust against her and she tightened her grip. “No, I don't want it to end like this. I need to be inside you, Delilah, please.”

Ann swears she was born with a book in her hands and has never put it down. A lifelong love of reading has finally culminated in achieving her dream of writing...and publication.
She lives in the beautiful Hunter Valley with her own handsome hero of many years. Ann has always loved the ups and downs of life in small communities and she shares this with readers in her rural romances.
Strong sexy heroines with a good dash of sass thrown in feature in her stories. Of course these women need an equally strong hero. Bring on the outback hero and watch the passion ignite.
When not writing Ann enjoys reading, gardening, walking her very large dog Hugo and fighting with her computer.
