The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor

Fall in love with Sam Braden in the Bradens of Peaceful Harbor. Hot, sexy, & wickedly naughty second cousins to the Weston, Colorado Bradens we know and love.

River rafting and adventure company owner Sam Braden works hard and plays harder. He’s fast, focused, and determined—and never at a loss for a willing woman to share his time with. The trouble is, the only woman he wants refuses him at every turn.

Physician assistant Faith Hayes escaped her painful past and built a safe, happy life in Peaceful Harbor. She’s also put what she’s learned to good use helping others by founding Women Against Cheaters, an online support group. When her boss’s sinfully sexy brother sets his sights on sweet Faith, she knows the self-professed player is everything she shouldn’t want, and she’s determined to resist him.

Sam pulls out all the stops, proving to Faith that his past doesn’t have to define his future. As she lets down her guard and begins to trust Sam, intense conversations turn to intimate pleasures. But when real life steps in and their pasts collide, it’s Faith who’s left with something to prove.

What I love about picking up a Melissa Foster book is the fact I know it will be a fabulous, romantic story. River Of Love more than exceeds my expectations.

Sam Braden is a 'love 'em and leave 'em' kinda man and doesn't want to follow his brothers on their road to matrimony. He enjoys women, and equally, they are more than willing to reciprocate whatever he's offering. He has a job he enjoys managing his Rough Riders outdoor adventure business. He loves his life and wouldn't change a thing! Yet, he's drawn to the attractive assistant working in his brother Cole's clinic and can't keep from dropping in for a visit! He knows she's interested too, but Cole has told him to stay away. Sam respects his brother's opinion, but as Cole heads off on his honeymoon, he can't fret about what he doesn't know, right?

Faith Hayes moved to Peaceful Harbor after a painful breakup from her cheating boyfriend. She enjoys her work as a doctor's assistant and in her spare time she leads a group she founded called Women Against Cheaters! The brother of her boss is a frequent visitor to the clinic and she can't stop herself from staring at the tall, sexy man. If only his womanising reputation wasn't true!

Sam and Faith make such an intriguing couple as they initially appear to be at opposites ends of the spectrum. Sam is the epitome of what Faith despises yet her assumptions are slightly off. She doesn't hold back as she challenges Sam's past and blown away by his charismatic retort. His blasĂ© attitude to his reputation oozes honesty, but it isn't sufficient to convince Faith that he is capable of having a relationship. For the first time in his life, Sam has to see himself through the eyes of others, motivating him to prove to Faith that he isn't like her ex-boyfriend. He wants to prove he's capable of love as much as he wants to gain Faith's trust in himself. All the while, sexual sparks fly whenever they are together.

Like all Melissa Foster's other books I've read, the supporting ensemble is there for much more than to fill a scene. Their inclusion is very much a part of the overall storyline. Faith's best friend is their to put doubt into her mind about the Sam. The Braden family add useful insight into Sam's character. The writing draws you into the lives of the characters, willing you to want to know more about them. Whilst this, like all the other books in the series are stand-alone. You'll want to read and catch-up on other members of the Braden clan too.

To sum up River of Love: Escapism at its best!

Cover Reveal: The Empty Jar by M. Leighton

The Empty Jar
by
M. Leighton

Releasing May 8, 2016

Today is cover reveal day for M. Leighton's upcoming release entitled The Empty Jar.  She wanted to say a little something about the cover before we reveal it and the description, so here she is.

First of all, a huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you amazing women who are helping me reveal this cover today. I appreciate everything you do for me, for authors in general and for this community.  As a reader, I love you, too:)

Secondly...

OMG OMG OMG!  IT'S FINALLY TIME TO REVEAL!

I feel like I've been waiting AGES to share this with you!

This cover... GAH!  Y'all, it took me forEVER to get it just right. There was a certain "feel" that I wanted to achieve with it and I wasn't happy until I felt that "feel" jumped right out when I looked at it. I wanted the cover to speak of the book. I wanted it to show the highs and lows, the sweet and the poignant, the depth of it, if you will.  And finally...finally, I feel like it does:)  You might not realize just how much NOW, but once you read this story, you'll be like, "Yeah.  That cover is perfect for this book!"

When I got the paperback proof in the other day, I held it in my hands and I just stared at it.  Not only is this story extremely special to me, but this is probably my favorite cover of all my books.  Ever.  When I look at it, I see so much more than just a picture.  I see all the things that I find in life, as well as what I put into the story that is The Empty Jar.  It's a blend of happy pinks and brooding blues. It's light and it's dark.  There are highs and there are lows.  There is morning and there is night.   But if you notice the sky on this cover, there are little flickers of brightness in the bodies of the lightning bugs. Life is that way, too. Even in the darkest part of the night, there is a spark of hope.  There is beauty.  There is the romantic glow of a full moon, the silvery face of your mate, the delicate twinkle of fireflies. It's all there if we look closely enough—that balance of beauty and tragedy.

And love.

Always love.

Below is a little more about the book. It's hard to tell you much without spoiling anything, but I think you can get a feel for it.  It's such a special story.  So raw, so real. I honestly can't wait for y'all to read it! I hope you love IT and the cover as much as I do:)

If you want to know more about how it came about, you can read my blog post about it here.

But before I get to that...THE COVER!
