…Fire alarms, car accidents, and wildfires. Those used to be the biggest things Ryan had to worry about. Not what he was going to have to say to a judge in order to be able to see his own daughter more than once a month. The politics of divorce only served to spin up his temper and make him a cold-hearted bastard to his fellow firefighters, his friends, and even his family.

In the middle of all of this drama, Ryan found a friend. A friendship which exploded in his mind once he found out she was a widow; her husband having been killed while deployed in the Middle East. Ryan felt like Lindsay was a living piece of his soul.

Can Lindsay hold him together through the trials of having his daughter abducted? Can she show Ryan that love is what binds people together, especially during a time of strife, showing him the way to happiness?...

What Readers Are Saying
…This is nice read with an array of emotions, ready to take you over. Love and friendship, heartache and despair, are some of the emotions that will suck you in and hold you until the end.. …

…I am impressed with the author's ability to spin a tale and then throw a spanner in the works with a heartbreaking scene! I did cry! You won't be disappointed with this book, trust me…

…The writer has an amazing talent for weaving intense emotion with contemporary romance themes. I came into the book expecting a fluffy romance novel. I was horribly wrong. I was hooked from the first chapter and had to finish it in one sitting.…

…Ellie's Book Blog gives Ashes to Sparks two enthusiastic thumbs up and recommend this book to anyone looking for a good solid read….

... Once everything was cleaned up, Ryan pulled Lindsay into his arms. His mouth found hers in a hungry kiss; all he had been able to think about all day was getting everything moved and then taking Lindsay to bed in what was now their place. They’d decided to put her bed in the master bedroom since Lindsay’s was a queen-size opposed to Ryan’s double, and it was much more comfortable. Ryan had even taken the time to put the sheets on the bed once it was together so they could just fall into it later. This did nothing for his hunger during the day for her. He reached down and picked her up by the waist and Lindsay laughed in between kisses as he walked her to the bedroom.
“I’ve wanted to do this all day,” Ryan said against her mouth.
“I felt bad. You guys doing all the work, moving this stuff. All I did was entertain twenty-five seven year olds all day.”
“It went fast,” he told her, starting to unbutton the blouse she was wearing. “It’s was like working at the fire station. You get into teams, split up the work, and get it done. Most of it was the coordination to do both apartments at the same time.”
Lindsay pulled his t-shirt loose from his pants, running her hands underneath it. “You did a nice job. And even made the bed,” she said, kissing him. “I’m impressed.”
“I aim to please, lady.”
He silenced any further conversation between them as his mouth and hands began roaming over her body. His patience level was limited knowing he had to have her soon. She fell into his embrace as he reached down to pick her up and put her on the bed, finishing off the rest of her clothes before quickly divesting himself of his. Sliding onto the bed with her, he leaned over and turned off the lamp on the nightstand, letting the rest of the world disappear as he took Lindsay in his arms. All was right with his world, knowing he would come home and she would always be there. A sense of security and completeness encompassed him as he turned his complete attention to the beautiful woman in his arms…
