Cover Reveal: Kinky Sexy Dirty by Christine Reiss ( CD Reiss)

Now Available for Pre-order!

Release Date: March 28th

Cocky. Sexy. Charming. Out of my league.
That's Dash Wallace. A toe-curling, sheet-ripping mistake waiting to happen.
It would be helpful if he'd stop moving with the grace of a hungry cat. Or staring at me with his thumb stroking the stitches of his World Series ball. We're talking about the game but all I can think about is how much of my body he can cover with those hands. It's keeping me from concentrating on what his lips are saying.
Which is dirty. All dirty. I have to gird my freaking loins against this guy. I'm determined to know his secrets and he seems determined to get into my pants.
Sleeping with him could ruin everything, and let's face it, I don't trust him enough to let him anywhere near me.

Smart. Witty. Direct. Sexy as a fastball low and inside.
That's Vivian Foster. A real pistol with legs till Tuesday.
I can't get around her. She has a way of asking me one thing
and meaning another, which I'd manage fine if I could get my mind off all the
things I want to do to her. On the desk. In bed. With-a-feather-blindfolded-and-her-hands-tied-to-the-headboard kinds of things.
She doesn't trust me. Just like everyone else, she thinks I gambled against my own team.
She's wrong, and I'm going to prove it.

Author Note: You’re going to notice that the cover doesn’t say CD Reiss. It has a real first name, and it’s a name I’ve always been grateful to have.
I’ve discovered that The Submission Series is considered quite dark and scary to some readers. I didn’t realize that when I wrote it. I was just turning myself on. So, in the interests of making it easy for new readers to separate the lighter from the darker, I’ll be using a full first name on some of my new work.
CD Reiss will be the darker stuff. Everything from Submission to Perdition and what’s in between (and darker, if I have it in me).
I’m going to label lighter stuff with Christine Reiss. I missed Shuttergirl and it may be too late to change that. But going forward, any fun kink that doesn’t go into serious pain up to light, fun romance will be Christine Reiss. Kinky Sexy Dirty will straddle the line. Since it’s kinky without being as dark as Submission I think it’s a great place to start with the new pen name.
I’ll be promoting from the same accounts, same email lists, same everything. So fear not, this shouldn’t create confusion, only clarity.

CD Reiss is a USA Today and Amazon bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up, she’s at the well, hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did embed TV story structure in her head well enough for her to take a big risk on a TV series structured erotic series called Songs of Submission. It’s about a kinky billionaire hung up on his ex-wife, an ingenue singer with a wisecracking mouth; art, music and sin in the city of Los Angeles.

Critics have dubbed the books “poetic,” “literary,” and “hauntingly atmospheric,” which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she’s some sort of braggart who’s too good to give the toilets a once-over every couple of weeks or chop a cord of wood.
If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Review: Nirvana by J.R. Stewart

Title: Nirvana
Author: J.R. Stewart
Publisher: Blue Moon Publishing
Release Date: 10th November

When the real world is emptied of all that you love, how can you keep yourself from dependence on the virtual?

Animal activist and punk rock star Larissa Kenders lives in a dystopian world where the real and the virtual intermingle. After the disappearance of her soulmate, Andrew, Kenders finds solace by escaping to Nirvana, a virtual world controlled by Hexagon. In Nirvana, anyone’s deepest desires may be realized - even visits with Andrew.

Although Kenders knows that this version of Andrew is virtual, when he asks for her assistance revealing Hexagon’s dark secret, she cannot help but comply. Soon after, Kenders and her closest allies find themselves in a battle with Hexagon, the very institution they have been taught to trust. After uncovering much more than she expected, Kenders’ biggest challenge is determining what is real – and what is virtual.

Nirvana is a fast-paced, page-turning young adult novel combining elements of science fiction, mystery, and romance. Part of a trilogy, this book introduces readers to a young woman who refuses to give up on the man she loves, even if it means taking on an entire government to do so.

***Revised Review***

I was lucky enough to receive a revised arc for Nirvana and incredibly impressed by the changes that have been made to turn this first part of the trilogy into an even more intriguing read.

Andrew & Larissa (Kenders) are engaged to be married having met whilst studying at university. Andrew is a head programmer at Nirvana, Hexagon's virtual reality system, where he takes his scientific research beyond the boundaries of conventional medical treatment. Kenders also works at Nirvana. Before her move to Hexagon, she was the lead singer of Sextet Sixty; a punk band singing reactionary songs to promote their animal rights activism.

Life as Kenders' knows it comes crashing down around her after she's told of Andrew's death. She sees his charred remains, but starts getting short messages from him during her mandatory time in Nirvana. Knowing she shouldn't trust anyone including Corporal, Terk and her life long friend Serge. She begins collecting clues for the man she still loves and believes is still alive. With her life in danger, can she avoid being killed at the hands of Andrew's power hungry ex Paloma? Why is she collecting items for Andrew? Is he really alive or is this just a ploy by Hexagon to get their hands on Andrew's missing research?

I'm impressed that I was able to follow the narrative, understanding the science fiction aspect more easily this time around. The author has done a fabulous job of turning Nirvana from a good, enjoyable read (in my previous opinion) to a fascinating, page-turner, leaving me eager to know what fate has in store for the protagonists. As a romance reader, the one thing that'd liked to have seen the author do...is inject more emotion and feeling into the characters, in particular Larissa. This would add a much needed dimension to her relationships with Andrew and Serge.

This is an impressive début novel for J.R. Stewart, who has succeeded in making me want to continue this thought provoking story.

Weather the Storm

Rising Storm Episode 7 (Nov. 5): Lisa Mondello’s Weather the Storm

Welcome to Storm, Texas, where passion runs hot, desire runs deep, and secrets have the power to destroy...

Nestled among rolling hills and painted with vibrant wildflowers, the bucolic town of Storm, Texas, seems like nothing short of perfection.

But there are secrets beneath the facade. Dark secrets.  Powerful secrets. The kind that can destroy lives and tear families apart.  The kind that can cut through a town like a tempest, leaving jealousy and destruction in its wake, along with shattered hopes and broken dreams. All it takes is one little thing to shatter that polish.

Reading like an on-going drama in the tradition of classic day and night-time soap operas like Dallas, Dynasty, and All My Children, Rising Storm is full of scandal, deceit, romance, passion, and secrets.

With 1001 Dark Nights as the “producer,” Julie Kenner and Dee Davis use a television model with each week building on the last to create a storyline that fulfills the promise of a drama-filled soap opera. Joining Kenner and Davis in the “writer’s room” is an incredible group of New York Times bestselling authors such as Lexi Blake, Elisabeth Naughton, Larissa Ione, Rebecca Zanetti and Lisa Mondello who have brought their vision of Storm to life.

A serial soap opera containing eight episodes in season one, the season premiere of Rising Storm, TEMPEST RISING, debuted September 24th with each subsequent episode releasing consecutively this fall.

So get ready.  The storm is coming.

About WEATHER THE STORM: Episode 7 of the Rising Storm Series

Secrets, Sex and Scandals …

Welcome to Storm, Texas, where passion runs hot, desire runs deep, and secrets have the power to destroy…  Get ready.  The storm is coming.

Bryce Daniels faces a crisis of faith when his idyllic view of his family is challenged with his son’s diagnosis of autism. Instead of accepting his wife and her tight-knit family’s comfort, he pushes them away, fears from his past threatening to undo the happiness he’s found in his present.

The penultimate episode in this highly addictive series and I can barely contain myself, as the inevitable storm is getting closer and promises to be as dangerous and destructive as predicted.

This week the capable writing reins are in the hands of author Lisa Mondello as our attention is shifted towards Storm's pastoral care-giver Pastor Bryce Douglas and his family.

An autism diagnosis is difficult for any parent to comprehend and in Bryce's case, he doesn't want to accept his son has problems that need immediate attention. He's available to the community 24/7 to offer help to his congregation, but that doesn't apply to his wife Tara, daughter Carol and son Danny. Luckily, actions from interfering family members are a wake-up call for Bryce as he

The prize for the biggest foot-in-mouth moment goes to Sebastian Rush, when he accidentally lets slip some personal information to the town's ticking bomb a.k.a Dakota Alvarez...oops!

Again the writing is exemplary and seamless making this another high octane episode. I can't wait for the big explosive finale in Thunder Rolls by Dee Davis.
