New Release Spotlight: Easton's Everything by Amy Gregory

by Amy Gregory

In this addition to Amy Gregory's FINDING PERFECT series, Easton Montgomery meets his match in Jessica Pierce. Fans of Fix You by Mari Carr and Carly Phillip’s Karma, will love this funny and romantic addition to the Finding Perfect series.

Easton Montgomery demands control and order. He’s purposely kept to himself, no strings and no nonsense. Preferring to be in charge of his destiny, keeping his life neat and tidy, all wrapped up. Life is perfect, until the bow comes undone and his world completely unravels.
Jessica Pierce left Denver years ago with nothing more than her clothes and a need for a brand new beginning. After planting roots where her car broke down, life was good for a while. Then the ranch owner who helped her rebuild her life threw her a curve ball. Now she’s the new girl in Renlend, Kansas on the Montgomery’s ranch, and their son Easton is a constant source of frustration and distraction. Getting her hands around the veterinarian’s neck and squeezing, looks better by the day.
After a week of stepping around each other, dodging barbed comments, and Jessica’s smart mouth, Easton realizes she’s got more fire than any other woman he’s met. Suddenly Easton wonders if this curvy, blonde spitfire might just be the challenge he’s been waiting for.

Amy Gregory leads an incredibly active lifestyle in Kansas City with her husband and their three fantastic kids who keep them running in three very different directions. When she's not rushing her oldest daughter to tumbling, her youngest daughter to music lessons, or sitting track-side watching her son practice motocross, she's taking the few minutes in between to scribble the next pages in her Racing to Love series.
When asked, "When do you have time to write?" Amy Gregory giggles. "In bits and pieces," she says.
Amy is known for her snarky, off the cuff sense of humor, which you'll find shining through in the characters she's created.

She was fuming and stopped talking. She wanted to smack the hell out of him, instead she started pacing. Her second pass away toward the fire place was stopped. One strong palm around her upper arm pulled and she not-so-gracefully twirled back into his space, up against his chest with a hard thud.
His green eyes were darker than normal, his breathing was labored and Easton held her captive not only by his hands her arms, but by his gaze.
“You drive me crazy, Jessie. You think you know everything.”
She rolled her eyes. “I do. So stop questioning everything damn thing I do. I’m done with it.” Even in her own ears the comeback sounded pathetic.
“I hate it when you sass me and do that eye roll thing. You’re not a teenager.”
His voice was a low rumble. If her insides weren’t suddenly turned to goo by the deep threat lurking in his emerald green eyes she’d push away and show him some real sass—upside the head.
“That’s what I thought.” he answered.
“What? I didn’t say anything.” she whispered.
“Exactly. And you didn’t roll your eyes again. You followed directions. My directions.”
“You didn’t give me any directions, and you sure as hell didn’t tell me not to do something.”
“It. Was. Implied.” he said slow and deliberately.
Jessica swallowed hard, practically choking with the sudden dry mouth she’d developed. “You don’t tell me what to do.”
His brow rose and her knees went weak. Easton held her upright. “Your body says otherwise.”
“You.” She licked her lips. “You need to go back to your apartment, your town, your job, away from here. And you can’t just look at me like…like—like that, and forget what you did in there.” She waved a hand at the kitchen. “Go home.”
“Not happening.”
“You can’t commute an hour each way every morning and night. Your dad needs help, stuff I could do that Neil can’t, or his lazy ass won’t, but I’m not leaving this house. And—you can’t quit your…job.” Jessica’s head was swimming. She was left void of all retorts and fire in his presence.
“The couple I worked for knows my family, they know where I’m needed most now, that our plan for the future has changed. If I hadn’t have told them I should be here from now on, they’d have fired me just to force my hand. They’re good people. Didn’t you notice once we got Mom moved from the hospital to the rehab wing at the nursing home I was only able to be there at night? You never left her side, you didn’t notice when I’d come in? You didn’t notice in the last week since she’s been home, I haven’t left at all? So in three weeks’ time you’re telling me you didn’t pay any attention as to who was around Mom?”
She gritted her teeth. She’d noticed every freaking second he was around and it was exhausting her. She could stay up for days on end if she needed to for Erica’s sake, but Easton was wearing Jessica thin. He was too close all the time. His cologne smelled of the woods mixed with a hint of danger.
He was danger all right. She couldn’t think straight when he was around. He jumbled her nerves up and she was the one not speaking clearly. His mother’s speech on the other hand was definitely more understandable. Now he wasn’t ever going to leave? She needed to take her savings and get an apartment. But how? She needed to be with Erica twenty-four-seven. Jessica rolled her eyes feeling stuck between heaven and hell—it was the man who was both.
“Don’t do that, I already told you.” He pinned her with his laser sharp focus.
Those were the looks he scorched her with, though the war inside her was raging, and part of her wanted to take a swing at him and knock his block off, the other part was held captive by his command.
“I just worry about her.” he softly admitted.
“Me too. But you fight me twenty-four-seven, Easton. I’m drained. I would never ask her to do something not on the list of activities and exercises the OT gave me. I know how far and how long, I know when to make her rest. I’m not—”
“Don’t finish that statement.”
“Quit bossing me, damn it. I’ll say it anyway, I’m not stup—”
Before she could finish her sentence hot lips were on hers, tasting, touching, taking what he wanted from her. Every nerve ending in her body ignited in sheer fire. She needed to push back, walk away but his arms wrapped around her, hauling her closer to him and holding on tight to her. Her senses melded together and she was left with no ability to think, only feel. The last two months of fighting the attraction to the one man in Kansas who had the ability to hurt her worse than the one in Colorado ever could, had left her weak. She was unable to resist Easton any longer.
“You are the smartest woman I’ve ever met.” He said between kisses. “Don’t ever discount yourself or think that I don’t know what you’ve done for our family.”
His tongue touched her lips and Jessica parted, hearing his words but felt suspended in the place where reality and want mingled. Her dreams at night had been very close to what was happening. Every kiss she’d imagined came from a place of hot anger and heat. She should have known this was inevitably going to happen and just as she’d pictured. The man was raw, was dominating, and in charge.
“You’ve allowed Dad and I to keep the farm running as it should…because we can count on you to not leave Mom’s side. We’re grateful, we really are. It just hurts so much to see her struggle, Jessie. It’s killing me.”
He punished her with his lips, his tongue and his hands roamed up and down her back, pressing her into him so tightly she depended on him for air. Jessica moved her face to the side seeking space.
“Easton.” she panted.
His hand moved her chin back in line with his and once again he dove in taking, but also giving her every desire she’d longed for.
“No. Listen, please.” Jessica leaned her head backward. “Easton, are you doing this because you are angry, you need some sort of release? Because…”
Hot tears welled in her eyes at the thought.
“God no, Jessie.” He grasped both her cheeks between his palms. “No. I have been trying everything I can to keep you in this place, somewhere you can’t touch me, can’t reach me. Everything that has happened, nothing makes sense right now. I’m tired, you’re exhausted, but no, I just can’t fight this”—he kissed her forehead then laid his against hers—“between you and me anymore. I knew the night we met you were different. I knew you were special. I knew when I saw you care for a horse you didn’t know, despite what risks it could have meant to your employment. I knew when you were trying to go the extra mile for Mom before any of us knew what was wrong. Jessie, you’re special. I…I have always been jealous and longed to find what my parents have. I didn’t know how hard that was to find.” He paused, dipping to kiss her again, more softly this time.
“You’ve been in my space, my head, my home and I can’t hide from you anymore. I can’t hide from us anymore. And don’t even try and tell me you don’t feel the same way. I have watched your body react to me several dozen times. You don’t like to be controlled, but I see it in your blue eyes. You need rest, you need someone to take over and let you breathe without worry.”
The tears she’d felt before spilled over. “Oh my God, how could you ever know…that?” she whispered.
“I have studied you, watched your face when we speak, I know how you carry yourself, how the weight of the world is on your shoulders, or you think it is. But it’s not, it doesn’t have to be. I am not the easiest person to be around. And I’m entering territory I’ve never maneuvered before.”
She coughed, covering up a nervous chuckle.
“You’re cute. Yes, I can admit I’m not easy to like or... and well, I know I’ve been especially hard on you. But, I was trying to avoid this, to avoid you. But damn it, you make it impossible.”
“Avoid me?” she asked, her feelings raw and stepped on.
“You’re the kind of woman a man falls in love with Jessica. Not a fling, not a one night thing, you’re the type who scares men like me. I’ve wanted what my parents have, but it scares the hell out of me. I’ve never done the love thing. I’ve never even gotten close.”
Jessica blinked. “God I’m so confused. You’ve got me thinking in circles and I don’t even know what you’re saying now.”
“I’m saying, I can’t fight what we have between us anymore. We both know the chemistry is off the charts, we both know we have sparked something in the other, which we both come at it with anger and fight to avoid. I boss you, you roll your eyes. We’ve danced around it for weeks now. I’m putting a stop to it and calling uncle.”
“You admit defeat?”
He tipped his chin at her timid joke. His green eyes were nearly black. “Never. So learn that now. I always have the upper hand.” She started to say something, but he covered her lips with his fingertips. “Don’t even try to argue, get those thoughts out of your head. I know what you need—you’re what I need. It’s time.”
Easton bent and kissed her again, soft at first, then more heated. Not the same angry need as before, but he was leading the way. All she had to do was follow. Could she though? Easton did things to her, knew things about her she hadn’t let herself even discover. He’d put pieces of the puzzle together about her grandfather she’d never told anyone. Yet, her heart, part of it was left in Colorado in a cold cemetery with her grandparents. A huge chunk was torn to smithereens by a prick who’d shattered her confidence, the same one her grandfather had told her was a worthless ass.

Melissa Foster has shifted direction and turned up the heat in Logan, the first book in her new darker, sexier series Wild Boys After Dark.

The plot is fast paced and completely enveloped me. I was expecting hotter, sexier scenes but got way more than I bargained. The narrative is suspenseful, dialogue is grittier and the bedroom scenes are naughtier.

Our protagonists meet at a bar where Stella (Stormy) Krane is scratching a living and Logan Wild is having a late night drink in the bar owned by his childhood friend Dylan. He's instantly smitten by the sassy woman behind the bar who is sending out all kinds of mixed signal to him. After an over zealous guy from a bachelor party gets out of control and attempt to assault Stormy, Logan is determined to save the only woman to REALLY interest him in a long time.

As you'd expect, the writing is stellar from this author and I'm enjoying the directing she's taking with this collection of stories. The interaction between “Stormy” and Logan is palpable and is complemented by the likeable supporting characters and a gripping plot line. The best part? Logan has three sexy alpha brothers waiting to tell their stories...I'm hooked!

P.S. The epilogue will make you warned ;-)

Wild Boys After Dark #2
Melissa Foster
Releasing November 17th, 2015
World Literary Press

No last names. No strings. No ties.

Except of the silk variety.

Dr. Heath Wild and Allyson Jenner only wanted a simple tryst. But Heath couldn’t live with just one night, just one taste, of Ally—and Ally couldn’t escape the memory of his hands on her skin, the way he looked at her like she was his obsession, or his seduction, which had pushed her to the edge and had made her want to do things she never had before.

One night leads to one tantalizing phone call. Can one phone call lead to forever?

Amazon | B & N| Google Play |iTunes | Kobo

Wow, what a scorcher of a beginning for this second novella in the Wild Boys series! This story centres around Heath, a medical doctor, who has perfected the bedside chat perfectly!

The eldest of Mary Lou Wild's sons, Heath is my favourite although all the brothers are sexy and very likeable. What makes his and Ally's relationship so believable is their ability to communicate with each other on so many levels, making this a truly must-read book.

Heath Wild and Ally Jenner meet at a medical conference and hook-up after they can't deny the mutual attraction sizzling between them. They agree it's just one night but, one night just isn't enough. They agree to spend a second night together before going their separate ways knowing only their first names and telephone numbers. Do they want to see where this attraction takes them, or simply remember the memories of their short time together?

Their sexual chemistry makes them highly compatible in the bedroom, but it is their overwhelming need to pursue what started as a one-night stand that scares them both to death. Their mutual feelings for each other take them both by surprise, leaving them indecisive about how to progress forward. They both have trust issues from previous relationships, so have a valid reason for walking away.

You're so communicative,” she said with a smile.

Heath's strength is his communication skills. He's fighting his own inner feelings but still wants to talk and ask Ally if she feels the same way...what her concerns are etc... She's reluctant to reveal her insecurities, but Heath skilfully manages to coax her into believing they have something worth pursuing, even when he's not 100% sure himself.

Reading a Melissa Foster book means you know you'll be getting a well written narrative, with strong, personable protagonists. Heath, far exceeds my expectation on that score and I love that the heat level has been ramped up in this fabulous series. I'm not usually a fan of novellas, but I've now had a change of heart. Keep them coming…!

New Release: My Soul To Keep by Kennedy Ryan

It seems the things worth keeping are often the hardest to hold...
I had two things in life that mattered. My mother and my music.

Mama was taken from me too soon, and now music is all I have left. It’s the thing that’s pushed me right out of backwoods Georgia into Los Angeles, where the line between fantasy and reality shimmers and blurs. I’m finally making my way, making my mark. I can’t afford to fall for one of music's brightest stars. Not now. Music is all I have left, and I’m holding on tight with both hands. I won’t let go, not even for Rhyson Gray.

I had one thing in my life that mattered – music. The only constant, it’s taken me to heights most people only dream about; a gift dropped in my lap at birth. I thought it was enough. I thought it was everything until I met Kai. Now she’s all I think about, like a song I can't get out of my head. If I have to chase her, if I have to give up everything - I will. And once she's mine, I won't let go.

I shouldn’t have come. All the things I felt and fought, the things I suspected he felt too, he just spewed all over me. And as much as I want to be, I’m not sure I’m ready. I’ll never forget seeing my Mama in bed for days after Daddy left. And even though she got up, I suspect a part of her never left that bed, but just stayed there, waiting. We had to leave the house where she grew up and where I spent my first years, because Daddy left us with nowhere to go. Mama learned to stand on her two feet, and I’ve done the same. I just didn’t count on Rhyson sweeping me off of them.
We’re obviously on different pages about this.” I pull my hands free and turn to leave, but he steps in front of me, blocking my grand exit. “Let’s talk later.”
Enough talking.”
The heat of his body grabs me before his hands do. He traps my chin between two fingers, taking my mouth in a paradox of rough and tender. I want to move. To slide away from his body pressing me into the pool table. But I can’t. Not with his hand caressing my back. Not with his tongue in my mouth. Not with his erection pressing into my stomach. I can’t. I won’t. I have been denying myself this, and I’m so damn hungry. My mouth opens under his, ravenous and wet and hot. His groan vibrates against my lips.
Yes. Good God, yes, Pep.” His words slip down my throat.
I strain up on tiptoes, clawing my fingers into his dark hair, forcing him closer. He lifts me onto the pool table, planting himself between my knees. His fingers skim my bare thigh, working up my leg until he reaches a damp patch of silk. He pushes my panties aside, rubbing his hand into the wet flesh there before sliding one long finger and then another inside of me. I rock into these fingers which have awed millions with their skill. They own me. I’m the instrument in his hands. He’s playing me. Plucking at me. Strumming me.
He tugs at the wide neck of my sweater until it falls away from my shoulder, slipping his hand in and cupping my naked breast. He brushes his fingers over my nipple, and I lose my mind and every inhibition. My head flops back and I stretch my legs wider, offering him anything he wants.
Are you kidding me?” His question burns the vulnerable curve of my neck as he drags his lips to my shoulder. “You come here wearing no bra and think I won’t…”
He abandons the words, his dark, untidy head disappearing under my sweater, and before I have time to regain even millimeters of sanity, my nipple is in his mouth and he’s suckling me. Not gentle. Not soft. My breasts are so small, he almost eats me whole. Every draw, every suck, every bite sends a power surge to my core until my knees hold his hips in a desperate grip, and my nails rake across the flat surface of the pool table behind me.
His mouth at my breast. His fingers inside me. His clean scent surrounding me. I have nowhere to hide anymore. I am exposed. I want to spread myself wide open for him. That voice that has been telling me I can’t rely on him. I can’t trust him. I can’t need him—that voice is stunned into silence by his thorough possession of my body, by the inferno between my legs, blazing a hole right through my soul and scorching my heart.

I just can't write about myself in third person for one more bio! I'm a wife, a mom, a writer, an advocate for families living with autism. That's me in a nutshell. Crack the nut, and you'll find a Southern girl gone Southern California who loves pizza and Diet Coke, and wishes she got to watch a lot more television. You can usually catch me up too late, on social media too much, or FINALLY putting a dent in my ever-growing To Be Read list!

Emeralds Teaser 11.15

Excitement was already coursing through her body at what she was about to see. She had seen many ballets, but each time it was as if she couldn’t breathe when watching. She could judge their movements, the precision behind their leaps and turns, and the extension of the men and women onstage, but all of that would seem to blur. She would just get lost in the dance. That was all that mattered.
The lights dimmed, everyone rushed to get to their seats, and then the curtain rose, transporting the audience into another world.
Trihn sank back into her seat just as the first ballerina floated onto the stage. As she reveled in the performance, Preston ran his hand up her arm and to her shoulder, sending shivers down her spine. She glanced over at him, and he had this dirty smirk on his face. He wasn’t even watching the ballet. His eyes were solely trained on her.
She swallowed and stared forward, but her attention was torn. His fingers brushed her long tresses off her neck. The palm of his hand pushed flat against her skin and went up into her hair. He gently pulled it, and as her head dipped backward, her eyes closed of their own accord.
With his other hand, he laced their fingers together, bringing her hand to his lips. He tenderly kissed each knuckle before drawing her thumb between his teeth. She inhaled deeply.
He seemed to be enjoying himself as he kneaded the muscles in her neck. He leaned forward toward her and planted a soft kiss on her shoulder.
“Keep your eyes open. You don’t want to miss a second of this,” he breathed softly.
Dear God! He was teasing her. This was sweet, blissful torture.
She could hardly concentrate. Keeping up with two things at once, when one was tempting her with everything she wanted, was harder than it seemed. As the ballet drew to a close, she was glad that she had seen it before or else she would have been entirely lost as to what had happened during much of the performance.
His touch was captivating, and she found she was a lost cause when it came to this man. She hadn’t just forgotten the ballet in front of her face. The world had disappeared all around her. In a sea of people, there was just him.
The curtain dropped unexpectedly, bright lights flooded the auditorium, and Trihn jolted upright. Preston sat up straight, as if he hadn’t just been working her into a frenzy with the lightest touches imaginable. The smirk on his face was the only indication that anything was amiss.
As the curtain rose and the dancers began to take their bows, Trihn stood on shaky legs to give the ballet that she couldn’t remember a standing ovation. Preston applauded at her side. They clapped until everyone left the stage, and people started filing out.
She exited into the aisle, and Preston grabbed her hand again.
“Hey, we’re not done,” he said. The words were suggestive and were accented by his hand squeezing around her waist.
“Oh?” she managed to get out.
“Come on. I think you’ll like this surprise better.”
“Why is that?” she asked.
“Because I’d like to finish what I started.”
Emeralds Teaser 10.13

  1. Emeralds is primarily set in New York City. I went there for a weekend to do research for this book, and all of the places they go to (even if not specifically named) are real!
  2. Trihn is a ballerina at a dance studio in the city. Name changed from what it is in real life, but based off of the New York City ballet.
  3. I danced all forms of dance growing up and recently took up pole dancing. These are all centered around Trihn as she is a very accomplished dancer. All the moves she does in ballet or otherwise are real choreographed steps!
  4. This is the first book I've ever written in romance where the main character has an older sister.
  5. Trihn is basically the polar opposite of Bryna, the main character from Diamonds and Gold. She was really fun and difficult to write, because she is incredibly nuanced and has a personality that compartmentalizes her feelings and relationships depending on who she is with. I think that's why Bryna and Trihn work as friends. Bryna holds Trihn up, and Trihn holds Bryna back. You'll get to know Trihn so much more in this book and come to love her!
