Carnal Obsession: His Heart’s Prisoner
Carnal Series

Releasing January 30, 2017

Life on the street molds emotional athletes.
Three years ago, her brother’s death marked the beginning of Kendra’s new life, an existence with no home, no family, and no friends. Time in the underground byways toughened her emotional shell with the loose association of like-minded street rats where survival meant compromise and constant vigilance.
Before he died, Billy had sent her a package in care of his teammate, Conner. For Kendra, re-entrance into polite society comes with a deadly price, as betrayal comes from both sides of the grave.
Conner Crofton owns the BDSM club Ambrosia. After failing to protect his teammate on their last covert mission, penance takes form as a promise to safeguard Billy’s little sister, a girl he’d unknowingly remanded to a world of darkness and uncertainty, deception and psychopathic stalkers.
The past will always haunt us. Each must earn forgiveness and trust as passion, guilt, deception, and betrayal, interweave a destiny formed long ago. A romantic suspense with a twist.
 AMAZON | B & N KOBO

You? You own this animated horror show? Conner, what happened to you?” A decade ago, he and Billy had filled her head with fantasies only an innocent could dream, back when sex in a t-shirt carried the easy grace of a natural predator and filled her delusions of eternal love. Time had lent fuel to her imagination. Like a boiler that continued to build up too much pressure, her thoughts skated along the razor’s edge of a volcano. The age-old longing persisted despite current reality’s intervention and the memory of how Conner had led Billy into the military, to his death.
Hello, Kendra. I’m glad you and your band could make it tonight. I look forward to hearing you sing again.” That sweltry intonation could curl an iron bar, yet there dwelt a deep sadness, as if memories pulled him down a road too often traveled.
An audible gulp. Her mouth opened and closed several times without issuing a sound.
She couldn’t look at him, not when her face flamed with the memories of first infatuation. The disappointment invading her mind now stung the back of her eyelids. “When did you turn into a pervert?” It was too much to bear. She needed the quiet and peaceful white noise of the street, wind chimes on someone’s front porch, a car backfiring, a breeze sifting through the trees and blowing the road’s detritus in small dust devils.
Nice place you have here, Mr. Crofton.” Daeron, ever the peacemaker, stepped forward to shake Conner’s hand.
Yeah, all it needs is some spider architecture, pointed hats, and magic wands. Oh, and I think you’re missing a vat of boiling oil.” Mumbled words lost the bite of her intent.
Can’t say spiders do much for me, but we do have plenty of oil and violet wands. Most women think of them as magic.” Conner’s husky laugh scorched the knot in her throat like melted sand, changing its consistency until acid threatened to spew forth.
Looks damn interesting.” Daeron’s comment would earn him an all-out brawl later.
Freaking traitor. Men always stick together.
After a moment, Conner’s words sank in. No!
Violet? You’re gay?”
It seemed bystanders thought her a comedian or imbecile, their laughter creating more blazing heat to encompass her face.
Marc, brother of her current tormentor, took pity as he stepped forward. “Hi, Mackendra. It’s been a long time.” Sympathy radiated from him in waves to envelop her in a maelstrom of cloying, sickly sweet flashbacks she couldn’t handle. Of the four brothers, he’d been the nice one.
Hi, Marc. Let me guess, you’re also part of this zoo?” Regardless of his intended sincerity, she couldn’t rest her gaze on either man. “This den of perverts?”
You got it, hon. You ready to work? I’ve missed hearing your zany and spirited songs.” Marc stepped forward to offer a hug yet stopped short of contact.
No! She couldn’t abide the company of men whose lives had been twisted by pain and despair, the last men to see her brother alive. Conner’s presence ushered Billy’s last words to fill her mind before he ditched her for another military stint, his final tour. “You’re being selfish, mongrel. I need to do this, protect my brothers. You’ll be safe here, yet they won’t be unless I go back. When I return, we’ll start a new chapter in life, together.”
Well that sure as hell happened. Just not the way I’d planned.
The physical ache in her heart wasn’t relieved with the pressure of fist against chest. She turned and ran, just as she always did when the agony of memories washed over her. She would never again allow anyone to witness her suffering.

New Release Spotlight: The Devil's Daughter by Katee Robert

THE DEVIL’S DAUGHTER

FBI agent, Eden Collins is going home... to catch a killer. Fans of Audrey Harte’s It Takes One and Kendra Elliott's Bone Secrets series, will devour The Devil’s Daughter, the fast-paced and suspenseful first book, in the Hidden Sins series by NYT and USA Today Bestselling Author Katee Robert.

Title: The Devil’s Daughter
Author: Katee Robert
Series: Hidden Sins #1
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: January 24, 2017
Publisher: Montlake Romance
Print Length: 316 pages
Format: Digital and Paperback

Growing up in a small town isn’t easy, especially when you’re the daughter of a local cult leader. Ten years ago, Eden Collins left Clear Springs, Montana, and never once looked back. But when the bodies of murdered young women surface, their corpses violated and marked with tattoos worn by her mother’s followers, Eden, now an FBI agent, can’t turn a blind eye. To catch the killer, she’s going to have to return to the fold.

Sheriff Zach Owens isn’t comfortable putting Eden in danger, even if she is an elite agent. And he certainly wasn’t expecting to be so attracted to her. As calm and cool as she appears, he knows this can’t be a happy homecoming. Zach wants to protect her—from her mother, the cult, and the evil that lurks behind its locked gates. But Eden is his only key to the tight-lipped group, and she may just be closer to the killer than either one of them suspects…

By the time she made it back to the courtyard, it was empty, everyone having gone off to their varying duties. Martha might be a monster of a particular variety, but she had a well-run establishment. But then, she would. Keep her people too busy to stop and wonder about some of the insane shit she preaches. That saying about idle hands didn’t originate with the Greeks, but her mother had never been shy about incorporating whatever dogma she found most useful. No one questioned it.
No one but Eden.
And she’d paid for every question she’d asked.
She stopped next to her car, slowing her movements, because if she didn’t exert total control, she was going to fling herself into the driver’s seat and tear out of here as fast as the car could go. She wouldn’t stop in Clear Springs. She’d just keep driving until she put a few states between her and Elysia.
Not an option. You made damn sure of that.
She noticed the door was unlocked and frowned. Had she locked it when she got here? Eden couldn’t be sure. She’d been so rattled and practically bursting with adrenaline and dread that it was entirely possible she’d headed for her mother’s house without pausing to lock the door.
But she didn’t think so.
She opened the driver’s door cautiously, half expecting something to explode. She only had cursory bomb training, so even if she swept the vehicle, she couldn’t be sure she’d find something. If there was even something to find. Hello, paranoia, my old friend. She turned a slow circle, trying to figure out if someone would have had enough time to plant something. If a person had the know-how, setting up a bomb in a half hour was cake.
Way to be reassuring.
She leaned back into the car, a flash of white and yellow catching her eye. Frowning, she leaned in farther and used the pen in her cup holder to hook the circular wreath of daisies lying on the floorboard of the passenger side. It looked like the kind of thing she’d made when she was a kid and bored out of her ever-loving mind during the summer. She’d weave together the flowers that grew in the fields of Elysia into something very similar to this and wear it while she pretended she was Persephone, just waiting for her Hades to appear and whisk her away to be his queen. Eden dropped it like it’d caught fire. She’d completely forgotten about playing that game. Hell, no one knew she’d done it. She’d always been alone out there.
Or so she’d thought.
She wanted to throw the flowers away, to rip the wreath apart and grind it beneath her boots. But it was most definitely some kind of evidence. Even if there was no trace on there to find whoever had left it, it was proof that someone had been watching her when she got here.
Apparently my instincts aren’t as ravaged as I thought.
She wasn’t sure if that was comforting or terrifying.

Love best served shaken not stirred...one naughty drink at a time.
A bartender with a special talent for picking the perfect cocktail meets his match when down-on-her-luck Lexi walks into Bottoms Up. Well known for creating drinks with very naughty names, Justin whips up a cocktail especially for Lexi, hoping to ease the pain he sees in her soulful eyes.
With each sip Lexi realizes she’d much rather stay in Bottoms Up with the sexy, tattooed barman who seems to know just how to heal her broken heart.
Night after night, Lexi is drawn back to the bar to explore Justin’s list of naughty drink recipes in more detail--after hours. One deliciously dirty creation after another unleashes her extreme fantasies when he shows her how to let go of her inhibitions.
One tantalizing drink recipe at a time.

  AMAZON
The bartender without a name went about making another, unsure whether he was making it for her or not. With precision, he scored a lemon and peeled the zest into a perfect swirl. His tattooed forearm flexing with each move while he precisely twined the curl of lemon with a curl lime zest on the rim of the glass.
Lexi wondered what the delicious looking drink was called but was hesitant afraid to revisit the Soul’s Kiss or worse than that Bottoms Up fiasco. But curiosity and booze tempted her. What did he deem would be the perfect drink for her? This tattooed Romeo? She snorted, aware he’d heard her when he looked up with a smirk. He must have realized she was enjoying watching him. And she was, watching him make the drink gave her a reason to observe, and yes, enjoy the view while giving into her blatant desire than to nothing more than linger there. Watching him go about his job, feeling warm and safe in ‘Bottoms Up’ with this hunk working his magic making her feel….turned on. A feeling she hadn’t had for a very long time. Her eyes brimmed with fresh tears and she quickly looked away to avoid his gaze.
I think I have just the drink for you…” he said, placing the drink in front of her.
I can’t drink it if I don’t know the name,” she said, now blatantly flirting.
He smiled. “I see, well you’ll just have to guess the name then. I’ll give it back to you when you’ve guessed correctly,” he said dead pan, and then pulled the drink back behind the bar.
Lexi’s jaw dropped open in disbelief. He quickly turned his attention to a drink order one of his waitresses has brought to him. Looked like a big one form the number of tumblers he was stacking on the counter behind the bar and the bottles he proficiently pulled down from the shelves above.
Lexi leaned over the bar and saw her drink sitting there. Beckoning her. Taunting her. But she looked up and saw his reflection in the mirror behind the bar and the look on his fac. He shook his head.
“Ah..ah..ah,” he scolded. His sexy smile teased her in the reflection. “Sit back down and I’ll be with you in a moment…”
Mute, she sat down. Mesmerized by his fluidity, she enjoyed watching him pour at least ten drinks, all seemingly at once. He summoned the waitress over to get them with a wave of his hand and off the drinks went to the customers.
Glancing over her shoulder Lexi saw the bar was beginning to fill up.
A band had set up in the far corner near a large table of middle age men sat near the back, where the tray full of drinks was headed. Looking at her watch she saw it was five to four. Only a few hours left to clean out the rest of her apartment and hand in the keys. Lexi and Scott’s apartment. Their dream apartment. Until he’d gone and died. Shit, the tears burned.
The sexy bartender turned around at exactly the wrong moment as Lexi was wiping a tear from her eye.
“Hey,” he said, a soft soothing voice of concern. “I’d say you’re about ready for that drink now wouldn’t you?
Lexi nodded and felt foolish for being such a cliché, getting all weepy at the bar. That’s another reasons she didn’t drink much. It melted her resolve and devoured her self-control. Gone were the good old days when she and Scott used to stay up late, drinking, laughing, making love until the wee hours.
Stop it stop it stop it she scolded. It’s been just over a year since Scott died. Exactly one year three months yesterday. Time to get it together.
“It wasn’t a Soul’s Kiss,” he offered. “Not this one, but we can keep it for later if you’re not ready now…”
Was he hinting there would be a later? As in a drink— or something more? His eyes, molten pools of dark blue depths with lashes almost black, long and lush, tempted her. She imagined how soft they’d be if they fluttered slowly across her torso and then southward between her legs. Her body quickened with arousal. Shit, she was really losing it now.
I’m sure I’m ready for it...” The words tumbled from her lips before she was
aware of the innuendo.
He grinned. “Okay then, aren’t you going to try and guess?” he teased, placing the drink on the coaster in front of her on the ‘Bottoms Up’ coaster.
“I haven’t a clue…I’m don’t usually order cocktails.”
“Okay, then seeing as you’ve had a bad day, I’ll give you a pass this time, but only this time.” His smile made her flush. She pulled the drink closer to her and nodded her appreciation.
She smiled back at him. “Thanks. Now, I told you my name …what’s yours?” she blurted out, not realizing how provocative she sounded until the words were hanging between them.
“Justin…” he answered her question. “Justin MacLeary.”
“Nice to meet you Justin MacLeary.”
She smiled and lifted the drink to her lips, very aware his eyes were still on hers as her lips met the cool rim of the glass. “It’s very good.”
She took another sip, noticing it was smoother than the other. The band started up and a few patrons cheered.
What’s it called? She asked for the name of the drink over the music.
“Sexual Healing…”

Kate Deveaux is a contemporary erotic romance writer and die-hard romantic author of sexy romance with heroines who are no shrinking violets and heroes who make your heart skip a beat. A former wedding planner, Kate has always been “in love” with love! When Kate is not busy writing, she can be found on the tennis court –yes, there’s even ‘love’ in that game too.

Can you tell us a little about your book?
Bottoms Up is a sizzling romance between a broken hearted heroine and a bartender who concocts cocktails with very naughty names at his bar. Through the sexy drinks Justin mixes for Lexi, he heals her broken heart as he teaches her how to make those dirty drinks by acting them out with her. Night after night. From ‘Pop My Cherry’ to ‘Sex On The Pool Table’ it’s one erotic lesson in lovemaking after another. Filled with dirty drink recipes, I hope you’ll enjoy this Naughty Cock Tale Book, Bottoms Up!
What types of scenes are your most favorite to write?
Hands down, I love to write the scenes where they characters reveal their vulnerabilities. In my stories these scenes are almost always the sex scenes. These scenes are the most intimate interaction between the hero and heroine. The explicit sexual descriptions and sensual tone are merely the vehicle that I hope transports my reader into the very moment when one character exposes their deepest fears, hopes, and expectations to their lover as the scene evolves. These scenes are thrilling and challenging to write, but so fun too!
If you could have dinner with any three authors (alive or dead), who would you choose and why?
Number one, I would want to have dinner with Charlotte Bronte. For me, she is one of the quintessential role models of an author writing about social conventions in both day-to-day life and romance. Number Two, Danielle Steele. Her prolific swathe of work over the past thirty years is not only remarkable, but inspiring to me as an author. She was one the first authors I ever read as a young adult and loved the scandalously sexy stories she told. I’ve been a fan ever since! Third, I’d love to meet Colleen McCullough. Thornbirds is one of my favorite books filled with sensual writing and the gut wrenching agony of social conventions and forbidden love.
What are you favorite types of stories to read?
I read contemporary fiction mostly. Romance, sexy and non, and general women’s fiction. I also enjoy reading biographies. I just finished ‘Victoria, The Queen’ by Julia Baird. An inspired read of the lesser known details of Victoria’s love affair with Albert and her robust desire for sexual pleasure and her humanity was delightful to read about. An empowered woman, Queen Victoria continues to inspire through Baird’s writings.
Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?
I think all stories authors tell are hinged somewhere in experiences we may have had and people that we have met. These experiences cannot help seep into our writing. For myself, although some of the subject matter might be fantasy — or not, the reactions to the actions in the book are almost always something tangible that I can relate to from personal experience. I like to tell as story as if I am living it.
Can you tell us about your upcoming book?
My next book that is coming out soon is ‘Fit to Be Tied’ part of the Bimini Bound series. The rubenesque heroine, Liz, leaves behind her dreary Seattle office to attend a work outing in the Bahamas aboard the boss’s mega yacht. Liz quickly finds herself in the middle of a very sexy case of mistaken identity, with the added thrill of ménage romance when she is seduced by the sexy guest on board and his sidekick. A voyeuristic hero with a taste for bondage and ménage, Fit to Be Tied is a curvy romance full of mistaken identity and sexual fantasies that I hope will have you eager to hop on board!
Thank you so much for having me as your guest.
Best,
Kate
