Melissa Foster has shifted direction and turned up the heat in Logan,
the first book in her new darker, sexier series Wild Boys After Dark.
The plot is fast paced and completely enveloped me. I was expecting
hotter, sexier scenes but got way more than I bargained. The
narrative is suspenseful, dialogue is grittier and the bedroom scenes
are naughtier.
Our protagonists meet at a bar where Stella (Stormy) Krane is
scratching a living and Logan Wild is having a late night drink in
the bar owned by his childhood friend Dylan. He's instantly smitten
by the sassy woman behind the bar who is sending out all kinds of
mixed signal to him. After an over zealous guy from a bachelor party
gets out of control and attempt to assault Stormy, Logan is
determined to save the only woman to REALLY interest him in a long
time.
As you'd expect, the writing is stellar from this author and I'm
enjoying the directing she's taking with this collection of stories.
The interaction between “Stormy” and Logan is palpable and is
complemented by the likeable supporting characters and a gripping
plot line. The best part? Logan has three sexy alpha brothers
waiting to tell their stories...I'm hooked!
P.S. The epilogue will make you cry...be warned ;-)

Wow,
what a scorcher of a beginning for this second novella in the Wild
Boys series! This story centres around Heath, a medical doctor, who
has perfected the bedside chat perfectly!
The
eldest of Mary Lou Wild's sons, Heath is my favourite although all
the brothers are sexy and very likeable. What makes his and Ally's
relationship so believable is their ability to communicate with each
other on so many levels, making this a truly must-read book.
Heath
Wild and Ally Jenner meet at a medical conference and hook-up after
they can't deny the mutual attraction sizzling between them. They
agree it's just one night but, one night just isn't enough. They
agree to spend a second night together before going their separate
ways knowing only their first names and telephone numbers. Do they
want to see where this attraction takes them, or simply remember the
memories of their short time together?
Their sexual chemistry makes them highly compatible in the bedroom,
but it is their overwhelming need to pursue what started as a
one-night stand that scares them both to death. Their mutual feelings
for each other take them both by surprise, leaving them indecisive
about how to progress forward. They both have trust issues from
previous relationships, so have a valid reason for walking away.
“You're so communicative,” she said with a smile.
Heath's strength is his communication skills. He's fighting his own
inner feelings but still wants to talk and ask Ally if she feels the
same way...what her concerns are etc... She's reluctant to reveal
her insecurities, but Heath skilfully manages to coax her into
believing they have something worth pursuing, even when he's not 100%
sure himself.
Reading a Melissa Foster book means you know you'll be getting a well
written narrative, with strong, personable protagonists. Heath, far
exceeds my expectation on that score and I love that the heat level
has been ramped up in this fabulous series. I'm not usually a fan of
novellas, but I've now had a change of heart. Keep them coming…!
