Eventually he spoke. “Ever hear a song for the first time and you don't know the words, but the music is really familiar?”
“Sure. Like 'All Summer Long' by Kid Rock where he uses parts from 'Sweet Home Alabama' and 'Werewolves of London'?”
“No. An all-original song that you hear for the first time, but you know the music anyway?”

(Blurb from Goodreads) The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.
He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.
When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.
You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend--smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.
He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.
Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.
Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy.
Oops. My mistake.
Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.
I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?
That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.
Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.
I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.
Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.
This was going to be interesting…

  1. OMG! That scenario is definitely one nobody wants to see happen. Thanks for sharing, and here's mine: “WATCH ME DISAPPEAR”

  2. Oops! Sounds like a great premise. My teasers are from a historical mystery - A Conspiracy in Belgravia by Sherry Thomas. Happy reading!

  4. That has happened to me--hearing a song I've never heard before and yet it sounds so familiar--not the part about accusing someone of being who he isn't and then finding out I have to work with him. It does set a foundation for the sparks to fly though, doesn't it? Sounds like a fun read. I hope you enjoy it!

    Have a great weekend!
