It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome to everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
What's happening here?
We've got snow...enough snow and it's cold, but it is Winter and I live in Norway, so nothing special about that. We dipped to -15C (5F) yesterday but is warmer today at -4C (25F). I'm not complaining as I tolerate freezing temperatures far better than hot ones, although when I look back at what we were doing at this time last year, I wish we were in Australia again…
Since finishing NaNoWriMo I've been struggling to get back on track with my reading as I plan my 'what next?' for my writing and blog for the coming New Year. So, in between baking, I've been downloading lots of free books from BookBub and Book Shout with a Christmas theme and had a binge on festive novellas this past week. I still have a few more bargains to read and I'll begin those this week as well as picking up arc's I've got lined up for 2018 already.
What am I currently reading?
Thoughts so far…
This was a book I 1-clicked (free) without giving much thought to what its about and dived in blind. I'm currently at 27% on my Kindle. This feels very different to what I've read recently, which is a refreshing change. I'm not expecting any big surprises along the way, but would we expect that with a Christmas themed book anyway? So far, we've met the protagonists, her children and her parents. There is a sadness in the narrative based on the female protagonist's past but I'm sure there will be a wholesome happy ever after at the end.
Book(s) I've read this past week?
How to Blow It With A Billionaire by Alexis Hall (arc)
Christmas At The Castle by Melissa McClone
All I Want For Christmas by Jennifer Gracen
A Cinderella Christmas Carol by Hope Tarr
Wingmen Babypalooza by Daisy Prescott
Once Upon A Royal Christmas by Robin Beilman
What are you reading?
We've had a week of on-again off-again snow but it's supposed to warm up this week? I guess we'll see. :) I actually enjoyed the cold temps though, made it seem Christmasy.
